Deathcore and downtuned metal on a 7-string.

Drop G is A standard with the seventh string dropped a further whole step to G: G D G C F A D. It is the deepest common 7-string tuning, with one-finger power chords on the bottom three strings and a low G at 49 Hz.
Expect to need a long scale and a thick seventh string. This is the territory of Emmure, Chelsea Grin and the lower end of deathcore.

- String 7: lower B1 down two whole steps to G1.
- String 6: lower E2 down a whole step to D2.
- String 5: lower A2 down a whole step to G2.
- String 4: lower D3 down a whole step to C3.
- String 3: lower G3 down a whole step to F3.
- String 2: lower B3 down a whole step to A3.
- String 1: lower E4 down a whole step to D4.
Tuning to Drop G in TuneGlass

Tips
- A .070 to .074 seventh string on a 26.5-inch or longer scale keeps the G usable. On a 25.5-inch neck it will feel like a rubber band.
- The low G reads best with a single, moderate pluck over the neck pickup. Let it ring and give the tuner a second.
